LARA 2
LARA is an online application created to support the national rollout of ContactPoint. It was designed to assess the readiness of local authorities and their partners to share child information and also to encourage collaborative working. As local authorities and national partners got closer to achieving their required level of readiness and skills, a new version of LARA was created to cater for the need to accredit systems, systems instance and local partners.
My role in this project was first to work in closely with DCSF to gather the requirements. This was achieved by creating a series of user scenarios that were later translated into a conceptual model. Once the concept model was created I designed over a hundred wireframes to ensure that all new requirements were seamlessly integrated in what already was a very complex application. I also ensured that the end product met the strict DSCF's style, usability and accessibility guidelines as well as ensuring the safety of highly sensitive data.
Tell Us Once
The aim of this project was to build a prototype of the Tell Us Once tool and a demonstrator that would mimic the interaction of the prototype with other existing systems.
The demonstrator's main function was to allow a range of stakeholders to test a series of different scenarios and provide feedback. An administration area for the management of users, feedback and reports was also required. My role in this project was first to create a sitemap, process flow and wireframes that were included in the ITT document used for the procurement of a vendor. Once the supplier was selected, I created a series of sitemaps and html/css templates and worked closely with their developers to ensure that the end product met the strict Directgov's style, usability and accessibility guidelines.
School Plan Annex
School Plan Annex is an online form that teachers use to supply all the information required to apply for a wider role with the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
The DCSF asked Greenhouse to make a series of amendement and additions to this form. They wanted to allow users to register, login and complete the form in several sessions. Users also needed to be able to access their history of submissions. A requirement was also identified for an administration area that would allow DCSF to manage users, search submissions and create reports.
My role in this project was to run a requirements workshop with key stakeholders, create the sitemaps, process flows and wireframes. I designed the wireframes following the exisiting style guidelines and also wrote a series of user journeys to help the stakeholders identify possible pitfalls in their preferred registration process.
Wildlife Heritage Foundation
The Wildlife Heritage Foundation (WHF) is a UK based charity that works hard to ensure that the big cat species of the world are protected from extinction.
WHF asked Greenhouse to add a shop to their current website. This site allows users to learn about the foundation, browse their collection of photos, become a WHF member, adopt a cat and follow the cats' diaries. As WHF's budget was very limited they requested that the shop should be very simple, fit within the current architecture and follow the current look and feel. Amendments were also needed to accommodate the shop's functionality in the existing CMS.
My role in this project was to gather the requirements, design the wireframes following the existing style guidelines and engage with the lead developer to ensure that the designs were technically feasible.
Barclays Learning Division
The Barclays Learning Division goal is developing barclays employees accross the world.
Barclays asked Epic to build a customised version of Arena, Epic's Learning Content Management System (LCMS) that would allow them to deliver two learning programmes in six different languages. A self-registration functionality was also requested to reduce the administration costs.
My role in this project was to gather the requirements, design the wireframes, write the design solution and run a series of brainstorming workshops with designers and developers to ensure that we delivered a solution that was both pleasing to use and technically efficient.
Lonsdale Education
Lonsdale publishes revision guides on a wide range of subjects.
Lonsdale asked Epic to create an online revision tool that would provide practice and test questions with instant help, feedback and revision material for AQA or OCR Gateway Science.
My role in this project was to gather the requirements, design the wireframes and build an interactive prototype that I later presented to key stakeholders.
